One more thing before I go out to my flower beds. We're a small staff which facilitates integrated learning so well. We have done a career, science, history expo forever and are "moving on" next year. Taking a problem solving approach to a real world problem, namely the economy. Now that sounds boring and tiring since we hear so much about this on a daily basis, but our Ukraine math teacher is a take charge and fix gal. She thought that since so many young people have gotten into financial messes we should come up with real world activities throughout the year, integrate our classes so that English, science, family consumer science, history, etc. contribute in whatever way they want to the bigger issue of "consumerism." Very thought provoking. And we will start from day one planning and plotting our projects that contribute to the learning goals we establish. Once we started investigating last spring, it became clear that every curricular area had a great deal available to explore. The project will culminate in an expo of sorts. Lots of technology will replace the tri-fold posters of old. We will build on the past, however, because our expos were terrific. We're just "refreshing" so staff can get a mental boost and delve into new approaches to learning. Principal has suggested learning teams, with teacher on the team rather than a teacher. Cooperative learning again. Well, we'll see once new year rolls around. Exciting.

Hi Greg,

With your passion for Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.
