A way to Integrate Technology in the classroom!

Hey guys! My name is Michelle and I’m an intern at a company called ePals. We offer a great free program called In2Books that I thought you might be interested in hearing about. In2Books is a free e-mentoring literacy program for 3-5th graders in Title 1 schools (where at least 40% of the children in the school are from low-income families.) Each student chooses five books from five different genres which are carefully selected by a team of children’s literature experts. The students are then each matched with a screened adult mentor, Pen Pal, who will read the same books. The students write back and forth online with their Pen Pal discussing important issues in the books. Teachers will also reinforce the learning with book discussions and related activities.

In2Books is a safe program where adult pen pals go through background checks. Teachers are also given the ability to approve each e-mail before the child sends or receives it.
